Intro:

Able is a very special Musician, Event Manager, Artist Manager & Promotions Incharge, familiar and proven his potential as a lyricist and as a vocalist in different genres of music - rap, R n B and modern rock. A daytime workaholic looking and working on new ventures and a nocturnal socialite with a thing for Hip Hop.

Able has a well defined personality. He is a very versatile MC and can easily adapt to any crowd's or audience's taste, which explains why he does it all in great style.

Since his early childhood in Muscat, earning his own pocket money at the tender age of 14, thirst for fame and recognition in the world of music began when Able started out with djing and performed for rock concerts at local schools and colleges, the money he gets pays for his daily needs till he turned 18, at the same time learning and perfecting his craft.

His professional music career started at a popular hangout in Bangalore known as The Bunker, where he became an Assistant DJ. Right after showing up in the music scene as a DJ, he raised standards for the clubs he played at by increasing the number of regulars at a very huge amount. He also organized and DJ'd in afternoon and night parties for Pubs in and around Bangalore city. Able does not believe in giving up, the climb was steep but fast at that point. His hard work finally paid off when very soon after that he started gaining reputation amongst online listeners worldwide with his own music which he composed, uploaded and promoted right from his home.

After winning a series of rap battles held in various clubs around the city, the big break came in when he was called to Mc in Fusion Lounge, Bangalore, where he impressed everybody with his high energy crunk rap and on the spot remixes and was instantly hired as the resident Mc. This was where his dream was realized when an independent record label signed him to make music for their first hip hop album. Demand for recognition, money and honnies with his music soon turned out to be his career.

His crew, which includes DJ BIGGIE, DJ PRASHANTH and MC Steve have been performing live and at the same time producing and composing tracks in and out of the studio, making them the bunch who truly stands out for owning their music than just spin audio's made by other international artists. Here lies the real meaning of Djs and Mcs, a true revolution, one of a kind in India in the genre of Hip Hop.

He is one of the prime members of the first Hip Hop crew, Dnoax, signed to a independent Record Label. Their first album was much appreciated by many with more than 200,000 views up on YouTube. He has also collaborated with international artists like Pre Daily (Bronx) and Dallas Owen (Sydney), Krafty (London) and Armor G(California) for his upcoming Demo Album.

He has performed at many renowned clubs in Bngalore, Mysore,Manipal and Cochin.To name a few - Taika, Hint, Zero G, Nyks, Mantra, Tuscan, Fusion Lounge, Flames, Sphaira, Enigma, High Octane ,Club 99 etc. And has performed alongside Dj's and other artists like Dj Prashant, Dj Paresh, Dj Biggie, Dj Deep, Dj Ravi, Dj Leon, Dj Kabir, Dj Abdul, Dj Muggie, Dj Kumar, Dj Rulz, Mc Meghawatt, Mc Snypah killah, Skizophonics, Suga Fly etc.

Continuing to explore fresh avenues, Able is currently experimenting with new sounds, produced from home and writing more vocals himself. But despite his meteoric success, Able remains grounded about his achievements and clearly loves making and playing music above the accolades it brings.

The future for Able promises yet further success, both as the solo artist he's become and the MC we know him to be. And he goes on to say he is the King of the Desi South!

Initially MWA was started by Bigg Nikk soon joined by Smokey and Brotha V were goin solo in the game and thus" Machas with attitude MWA " was born. One of the most contreversial group in South India the MWA have influenced Hip Hop in india in a massive way , Beacause every rapper in the crew has a Different style and Different flow on every track MWA caused majour impact in the first month of the formation of the group , As time passed we started writing better stuff! ,Tracks like Fire on thin ice, Machans with Attitude created a lot of Quakes in the country and turned out a majour hit , DJ Rage , DJ phseudo , DJ Green Alien , DJ Sameer J were also included later into the group. Finally the MWA are still changing the dimentions of Hip hop in India! , Patriotic or Sad or Funny or Angry - anytype of Song MWA make the difference everywhere! and will continue to do it !!

MWA were recently interviewed by the well known music channel MTV. The guys spoke about their life ,hip hop and future plans.

MWA have a great variation in their lyrics with tamil/english and even hindi being the pick ! The guys have been performing a lot lately and have recieved emmense support from all around !

Ko the Timeless, AKA Koushik Chatterjee hits fans at their core when he voices his poetry into hip-hop over beats laced with Eastern influences. Ko first discovered A Tribe Called Quest at the age of eight; he fell in love with the poetic elegance of the lyrics and beats that stayed floating in his mind all day. In elementary school following his parent’s footsteps (who both still to this day perform traditional Bengali Music) he picked up his first instrument, the piano. Ko followed playing the piano with the violin, and in middle school started plucking away at a guitar. In high school Ko started pairing his love of poetry with music, and immersed himself into hip-hop culture. In 2007 Ko met DJ AV and recorded Fly Away. Intro :

Srik grew up in Artesia, a suburb in southern Los Angeles. He would spend most of his childhood time in listening to mostly commercial rap. Then later realizing his talent, he formed his own group with his classmate ‘Droop’ and the group was called ‘Defaulters’. This group was short lived and later Srik quit to form “Wattabottles”.

Swami grew up in Bombay and later moved to crime infested Bihar. He was fascinated by local and reginal music. He acquired his taste for rap after meeting Srik in 2003. ‘Wattabottles’ was officially formed in 2004 as an attempt to bring hip hop to South asia. They express rap in pure form in their own style and away from the mere commercial aspect.

Shashank Raju aka The New urban kid [TNUK] joined the group as the 3rd member in 2007. The producer from Hyderabad has produced beats for Indian Hip Hop labels like DNOAX and other local rap artists.

Coming straight out of the paths of India, is Asif Akber, also known as your fellow beat-producer, rhyme-wrecking artist named Ragged Skull. Most people would doubt an Indian rapper, but that's not the case here. What influences this cat to create his own form of Hip-Hop? Great artists such as, the late Tupac, Immortal Technique, Mobb Deep, and last and not least, Nas, will be the cause of this.

But as said, not only does he write lyrics, he produces the head-banging beats that you hear behind them. Dealing with life, having a strong belief, natural experiences, and an uprising mood is all that this man needs to get his action in motion. Not many artists make music for the love of it, or the sake of self. But, Ragged Skull is one of them. Feeling the need to say he has music of his own is his motivation. But, as making music brings fans, that not all that Ragged asks for. Getting signed to a label, then branching off and starting a label of his own is all he asks for in this ol' rap game. So, what will you expect out of young Ragged Skull? Haha, your going to have to just watch and see!

Desi Rap [Introduction...]

Desi (or Deshi; pronounced [ˈd̪eːsi] or [ˈd̪eːʃi], Hindi: देसी, Urdu: دیسی, Punjabi: ਦੇਸੀ, دیسی) is a word originally from Sanskrit literally meaning "from the country" or "of the country". In North America and Great Britain, desi is used colloquially to mean South Asian immigrants and their descendants. It is mainly used by those of South Asian origins themselves, rarely by the majority population, and carries a subtext of inclusiveness and unity. It allows South Asians to refer to their broader immigrant community, rather than requiring a specific, nationalistic label such as "Indian" or "Pakistani". As such, its connotations are positive, alluding to the shared values, bonds and experiences of descendants of the entire region.

This self-referential colloquialism was created in the United Kingdom during the early 1960s to late 1980s and, in the UK is sometimes pronounced "dezzi."

The Music

A unique style of music has arisen amongst the Indian and Pakistani communities of the United Kingdom. Artists like Panjabi MC (who has an album called Desi) and Apache Indian have mixed the style of Indian music played along with bhangra dance with hip hop and reggae, and used a mix of the English and Punjabi languages, and have often spoken about the experience of being caught between two cultures. The Pakistani group, Junoon (two of whose members were brought up in America) mixes traditional Pakistani folk music, Sufi poetry, and Rock and Roll. A_R_Rahman, one of the most popular Desi artists blends classical south indian and hindustani music with western music to give some quintessential contemporary desi music.

Desi Rap [Hip Hop]

Desi Rap involves the mixing of traditional Indian n Pakistani sounds with the western hip hop/RnB. Dei Rap is basically Hindi,Urdu or Punjabi Rap recited over western beats with nicely decorated Indo-Pak sounds. Desi Rap is picking up strength and is starting to influence all sorts of genres around the world. With music having no boundaries, regional languages of India and Sri Lanka are also being featured to produce the so called ‘music-to-sell’. Malayalam, Tamil ,Telugu, Bengali and more languages are being used to spread Rap Music in the Sub Continent. There aint no beef and grudge against each other, as you see all desis support one n all, to rise n to keep rising!
